J.D.

Here is a picture of Jonathan Douglas (on the right), my friend that we named J.T. after. This picture is with Charlie Chandler, Charlie posted the picture on his Minor page. I have some pictures of J.D. but they aren't on the computer so this is easier to post.

I was on the Minor web site and looked at the group for friends of J.D. and there are tons of great little stories on there. Its really difficult to explain what a great person he was to someone who didn't know him. It could seem like there are only good memories discussed because he passed away and its the respectful thing to do, but that is just not the case. J.D. left a trail of laughter and smiles everywhere he went. One of the posts on the site said that J.D. did not have one enemy, and that is certainly true. He was absolutely as nice and selfless as everyone's memories of him recall, and not just some of the time, all the time, with everybody.

I feel like J.T. has a some of J.D.'s qualities in him. The way J.T. takes to people so fast and draws everyone in reminds me of the presence J.D. had. You could not be around either of those kids without almost instantly being endeared to their personalities. Hopefully we can raise J.T. to keep that in him as he gets older. I really hope that I can explain to J.T. when he gets older why we named him after J.D. I'm sure I'll have help from all J.D.'s friends.

We miss having J.D. here, but you can see from all his friends that he isn't gone.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to be around him a ton, but you are absoulutely right. He was so precious and truly the sweetest person. I never even heard a negative thing come out of his mouth. And, you are doing an amazing job raising that precious boy! He lights up a room.
