JT and his tie

 

JT's first Bama game

I took JT to the North Texas game in the pouring rain last Saturday. We took the camera but had to leave it in the truck because of the monsoon we were in. No pictures except a couple on my phone. They are on my Facebook page if you have Facebook.

We got there about 8:30 and it was absolutely pouring down rain. We put on our ponchos sitting in the truck and walked in the rain to the Quad. I thought it would be tolerable but by the time we got there we were both drenched from the knees down. He did get to see Big Al in a poncho riding through the Quad on his Big Al mobile.

We decided to walk to the stadium and go in to get out of the rain. We puddle stomped the whole way bc we were already soaked anyway. That was JT's favorite part of the trip. We ate nachos and oreos at 9:30 in the morning sitting on the ground in the Bryant-Denny concourse. JT managed to take a quarter of the game. The sun came out and made it very hot and muggy. We left with Bama up 21-0. He rode on my shoulders, all 50 pounds of him, the whole way back to the truck. He slept all the way home.

When we got home he cried bc his feet were wrinkled up from being wet all day. I had to carry him around til they returned to normal. All in all, we pretty much just got his first trip to a ballgame under his belt, although he did do his part by yelling when North Texas had the ball.

He'll probably be fine with waiting til next season to go back but he was a good ballgame buddy for his first trip. I can't wait until he's old enough to understand what's going on and really get into it.
