Taffy

 
Here's our newest puppy, her name is Taffy. She's a black lab. As you may know, we got a puppy Saturday and named him Major. Major seemed fine when we got him but he was having trouble peeing. Took him to the vet Sunday morning and he had a UTI, a pretty bad one. He got worse Sunday and couldn't keep anything down. Sunday night was awful, one of the worst nights I can ever remember. He would just lay there and moan and could only hold down 3 ml of water at a time. He eventually begain throwing up blood Monday morning about 4. I took him back to the vet and Dr. Stewart did exploratory surgery after determining that he was filling up with urine from not being able to pee. The poor thing had genetic defects in his parts that make and get rid of urine. He was in horrible agony and there was nothing Dr. Stewart could do to fix it. We had to put him to sleep Monday morning. We have told JT that Major was just too little to leave his momma and had to go back to stay with her and that Taffy is Major's sister and she wanted to come live with us now. JT is on-board with that. She is very healthy and playful and is very good with the kids. We'll post more pictures later.
